Brisk is 1 brok energie van de eerste tot de laatste noot. Traditionals naast eigen composities, daverende reels en een intiem afscheidslied: deze band heeft het allemaal in huis.
Hun eerste album “To an isle in the water” gooide hoge ogen in zowel binnen- als buitenlandse pers. “Cosmopolitan European Celtic music played with vigour”, schrijft het Engelse magazine The Living Tradition. Het toonaangevende Songlines bekroont hun “admirable album” met een 4-sterren review.
Maar ook live weet BRISK al snel vele harten te veroveren, met een opgemerkt tv-debuut in het Canvas programma ‘De Ideale Wereld’ en passages op zowat alle grote folkfestivals van Vlaanderen (Festival Dranouter, Gooikoorts, Zilleghem Folk…).
Tijdens het Merodefestival werkten ze intensief samen en traden ze op met de Schotse concertinaspeler Mohsen Amini (Talisk) en de Engelse nachtegaal Kitty Macfarlane.
De band draait in 2022 nog steeds op volle toeren mét een nieuw repertoire en het viertal heeft er meer dan ooit zin in om elke zaal of festivalweide in vuur en vlam te zetten!

Brisk is a vivid quartet with known musicians that focusses on Anglo-Saxon and Breton music.
The adventure for the band Brisk started in June 2017 with their first concert at one of the best known folk
venues in Belgium: Muziekclub ‘t Ey.
After two years, the band already has a list of remarkable achievements: Brisk was the house band of the
television show De Ideale Wereld and the group gave a series of blazing concerts at the Dranouter Festival,
Merode Festival, Schots Weekend and the Belgian Journey of Tomorrowland. Brisk performed several times in
the Netherlands as well. What a magnificant start!
With their debut album To an isle in the water Brisk delivers a chunk of energetic music. Naomi Vercauteren
(Ghent Folk Violin Project, Naomi Vercauteren Trio), Gunnar Van Hove (Daou, Moragh), Jeroen Knapen
(Surpluz, Lies & Jeroen) and Wim Moons (Moragh) are resounding names in the folk world, a quality you
immediately notice while listening to the CD. Traditionals alongside their own compositions, thunderous reels
and an intimate farewell song: this folk band has it all.

Brisk et un quartet animé avec des musiciens connus qui joue la musique Celtique avec une légère préférence
pour la Grande-Bretagne et Bretagne.
En Juin 2017, l’aventure a commencé pour le groupe Brisk avec leur premier concert dans un des meilleurs
clubs folk de Belgique: Muziekclub ‘t Ey. En deux ans, le groupe a déjà un beau palmarès: ils ont séduit le public
avec leur musique dans le programme de télévision De Ideale Wereld et le groupe a donné une série de
concerts enflammés au Festival Dranouter, au Merode Festival, au Schots Weekend et au Belgian Journey of
Tomorrowland. Les membres ont aussi joué plusieurs fois aux Pays-Bas. Quel bon début !
Avec leur premier CD To an isle in the water, un morceau de musique énergique et vivant. Les membres du
